Judie Agee, Project Linus

Penny Celmins, Nominator

“I am inspired all the time by our volunteers and the children we give blankets to. It has given me so much more than I’ve given it.”

A soft cuddly blanket that brings a sense of security, warmth and comfort is the essence of what Judie Agee delivers to thousands of Arizona’s sickest and most traumatized children. Since starting the Phoenix/East Valley chapter of Project Linus in 1998, Agee has consistently volunteered 30 hours weekly. More than 19,000 children in Arizona have received a blanket crafted from the heart and hands of caring volunteers. Blankets go to children with terminal diseases, burn victims, children of fallen soldiers and others who have suffered severe injury, loss or trauma.
