Steve Lee
Steve Lee creates positive memories. Every year for one week, he
brings 50 children from Child Protective Service and Arizona’s
foster care system to provide a safe and nurturing environment
where memories are created. The Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC) is
a nonprofit camp that serves children who have been physically,
sexually and emotionally abused as well as neglected children.
Steve has been volunteering for nine years with the Camp, the
last 5 years as Director. He takes children with broken spirits
and broken hearts and gives them yearlong and lifelong benefits.
Although he suffers from a form of Muscular Dystrophy he spends
a minimum of 1,000 hours a year on the Camp. He is also involved
as a volunteer for 5 other nonprofits and is pursuing a Master’s
Degree at Arizona State University.
He is a devoted husband and father and his strength, empathy,
love, energy and stamina continue to impress all around him. In
fact his friends say his chair runs out of batteries before he
runs out of energy!
