Calvin C. Goode
Try to interview Calvin C. Goode on his past accomplishments
and you’ll find a man who is determined to stay in the present
and plan for the future. Goode spent 22 years serving as
councilperson for the City of Phoenix, but his volunteer service
spans over 45 years. In the 1960s he chaired the Leadership and
Education for the Advancement of Phoenix Commission, then he became
Councilman advocating for low-income and minority individuals. For the
past 35 years, he has been vice president of the Booker T. Washington
Child Development Center and vice president of the Eastlake Park
Neighborhood Association. Calvin is also dedicated to bringing
affordable housing options to seniors and has been reaching out
to the community throughout his adult life to create opportunities
for those who believe they cannot help themselves.
