Fallen but never forgotten. George lives by these words. A retired U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, George volunteers many hours a week for his fellow veterans. Driven by patriotism and a strong work ethic, he oversees groups of volunteers and organizes numerou s programs. He is responsible for rallying veterans to attend about 3,750 military burials a year at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. He is Commander of the Northwest Valley Veterans Association, an umbrella group of 14 veteran’s organizations that promote patriotic interests and provide assistance to approximately 6,000 veterans and their families. He manages a team of volunteers that arrange for Memorial and Veterans Day programs. He serves on the Veterans of Foreign Wars State Memorial Squad and also supports and raises funds for the Veteran’s Administration hospital and the Arizona State Veterans Home. He volunteers in the hospital gift shop and is an on-call driver for the Northwest V.A. Clinic. For his service to veterans and the community he was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame in the Class of 2006.
